What are license Ids & license.usrid files?

  • License ID is a unique identifier used to activate our apps. It can be either your Autodesk account Id, or your machines' hardware Id. MAC address of a machine is included in the hardware Id.
  • License.usrid file(s) are generated automatically on your computers' desktops. After installation of our Revit app, open any Revit project, click Support pulldown button then click User Id. We need these files initially to issue your license when you purchase a product.

What are the available license types and what do they support?

  • Autodesk Id License Files:
License file(s) is generated, stored and managed using your Autodesk account Id. It can be saved on a network and/or local directory for all registered users. A user can be logged into multiple machines, with one active session at a time. If a user logs into Revit using a registered Autodesk Id on any machine, our apps are activated. If an account's email, user name, or any other details are changed, this never changes the Id of the account, which means an account can be passed from one user to another (if that's the case). This doesn't change the account Id nor our license file as long as the Autodesk account is still active. Our application can only read this account Id, and we don't have any kind of authority over this account (i.e change, deactivate, etc..) after the license is issued.
  • Hardware Id License Files:
License file(s) is generated, stored and managed using your hardware Id (including MAC address). It can be saved on a network and/or local directory for all registered computers. Users can migrate license(s) from one computer to another by deactivating license on one machine and activating another machine.
  • If you wish to switch your license from one machine to another, please Attach and email .usrid file(s) of both computers to support@archithetics.net (for hardware Id license type).

How to issue my license?

  1. After installation of our Revit apps, you will find a new tab inside Revit (e.g. Auto Dimension). Click
Support pulldown button, then click User Id to generate license.usrid file which is required to issue your
    license.
  2. Attach and email .usrid file(s) to sales@archithetics.net
  3. After we've received license.usrid file(s) from you, your license(s) will be emailed to you within one business day.
  4. Do Not attempt to manipulate license.usrid or license.license files as you will cause it to stop working.
  5. If you open license.usrid file in notepad or any other plain text editor, you will find hardware Id and/or
Autodesk account Id. Please keep it saved on your computer for later correspondences.
