FAQs

1For the Entire Walls dimensioning tool, how does the program determine on which side of the wall to place the dimension line?
For any wall that's marked as exterior in its type parameters, the dimension line will be placed on the exterior side of the wall. Otherwise, dimension lines are placed on the top or left sides of wall elements. That said, you can always reverse sides or determine how far the dimension line is from its corresponding wall, using the distance box. Distance box values can be positive or negative numbers and this will change the side or direction on which the dimension line is placed.
2Can I dimension MEP elements using the pack?
Yes, users can dimension MEP elements of chosen categories by line easily and quickly to blockwork, grids or both. Users can set dimensioning preferences to dimension from elements' centerlines, outer edges or both. There is a complete section for MEP preferences in the Configuration window. Users can dimension MEP fixtures and MEP provisions for voids generic families as well. The package has tools that work in plan, ceiling plan, elevation and section views.
3Does the pack work with linked models?
Yes, almost all package tools work with Rvt links and more to come in future updates. Any tool that works with Rvt links, you will fi nd marked as ((Works with Rvt links)) at the end of its extended tooltip when you hover over it by mouse.
4Can I edit references of dimension line after creation using the pack should I need to?
Yes absolutely, after creation just select dimension line and click Edit witness line from the standard Revit option as you would with any Revit standard dimension.
